Reviews for the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503Q
The Zephyrus G15 might look like a stylish all-rounder laptop at first glance. However, there's powerful high-end hardware from AMD and Nvidia under the hood. We have tested the 15-inch gaming device extensively.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 is one of the most impressive 15-inch gaming laptops I’ve ever tested. It features a suave yet subtle design, a vibrant QHD display and a speedy performance. There are more powerful 15-inch gaming laptops available, including the MSI Pulse GL66, but I’d struggle to find a faster alternative that’s as sleek and light as the Zephyrus G15. Asus has done a fantastic job of hitting that sweet spot between performance and portability.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 G503 did pretty well in our review for this unit made for the Philippine market and shows just how potent the combination of AMD and NVIDIA truly is in a gaming notebook. The only caveat here is the price – you’ll be paying top peso for the configuration we handled for this review. Top-tier performance demands top-tier money, it seems.

While the ROG Zephyrus G15 doesn’t quite fall into the thin and light category, it’s a gaming laptop that still checks off all the right boxes. Like its predecessor, it retains the same lightweight chassis, a new and improved AMD Ryzen 5000 Mobile series CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series GPU, but more importantly. It still retains that astounding battery endurance that would give Intel something to sweat about. My only gripe about this specific model, though, is its steep asking price. And yes, that also includes its base price of RM6999. But for whatever it is worth, I can confidently assure you that this is a laptop that is worth every damn sen ASUS is asking for it. In conclusion, I summarise this entire review using the vernacular of this current generation: This laptop absolutely slaps.

It all boils down to this: The Zephyrus G15 has practically everything I'd want in a solid gaming notebook, without breaking the bank. It's relatively lightweight, powerful and far cheaper than other premium notebooks. I don't mind that it doesn't have a built-in webcam, especially since most gamers would opt for a higher-quality external camera. For most gamers, the G15 is practically a dream machine.

Now that is what we call a comeback! The brand new ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503 is a win in every department, especially when it’s compared to the last Zephyrus G15. Moreover, what was special back then was the AMD processor inside, and now ASUS uses AMD for almost all of their newly released gaming devices.

It’s tough to make a hit more than once, but Asus managed to drop a banger. The Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 (GA503Q) totes around some of the most powerful components you can get right now. Almost every part of this machine is surprisingly great and well worth the money you’ll be paying. However, it’s not perfect. It’s one thing if the display isn’t as vibrant as the average premium gaming laptop, but it’s another if it can’t match up to its $1,000 cheaper sibling. Plus, a webcam would be nice.

As for the 2021 Zephyrus G14, this won’t attract as much attention this year, with the G15 taking the prime time. It still gets the updated hardware and screens, and I’m curious whether the liquid metal and other thermal tweaks will help with the high temperatures in sustained loads, somewhat of an issue with the previous generation that required limiting the CPU for a friendlier gaming experience and improved reliability. I’d also expect some of the potential G14 customers to migrate to the smaller ROG Flow X13 when looking for a portable performance laptop.
