The Zephyrus G15 might look like a stylish all-rounder laptop at first glance. However, there's powerful high-end hardware from AMD and Nvidia under the hood. We have tested the 15-inch gaming device extensively.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 is one of the most impressive 15-inch gaming laptops I’ve ever tested. It features a suave yet subtle design, a vibrant QHD display and a speedy performance. There are more powerful 15-inch gaming laptops available, including the MSI Pulse GL66, but I’d struggle to find a faster alternative that’s as sleek and light as the Zephyrus G15. Asus has done a fantastic job of hitting that sweet spot between performance and portability.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 G503 did pretty well in our review for this unit made for the Philippine market and shows just how potent the combination of AMD and NVIDIA truly is in a gaming notebook. The only caveat here is the price – you’ll be paying top peso for the configuration we handled for this review. Top-tier performance demands top-tier money, it seems.

While the ROG Zephyrus G15 doesn’t quite fall into the thin and light category, it’s a gaming laptop that still checks off all the right boxes. Like its predecessor, it retains the same lightweight chassis, a new and improved AMD Ryzen 5000 Mobile series CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series GPU, but more importantly. It still retains that astounding battery endurance that would give Intel something to sweat about. My only gripe about this specific model, though, is its steep asking price. And yes, that also includes its base price of RM6999. But for whatever it is worth, I can confidently assure you that this is a laptop that is worth every damn sen ASUS is asking for it. In conclusion, I summarise this entire review using the vernacular of this current generation: This laptop absolutely slaps.

It all boils down to this: The Zephyrus G15 has practically everything I'd want in a solid gaming notebook, without breaking the bank. It's relatively lightweight, powerful and far cheaper than other premium notebooks. I don't mind that it doesn't have a built-in webcam, especially since most gamers would opt for a higher-quality external camera. For most gamers, the G15 is practically a dream machine.

Now that is what we call a comeback! The brand new ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503 is a win in every department, especially when it’s compared to the last Zephyrus G15. Moreover, what was special back then was the AMD processor inside, and now ASUS uses AMD for almost all of their newly released gaming devices.

It’s tough to make a hit more than once, but Asus managed to drop a banger. The Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 (GA503Q) totes around some of the most powerful components you can get right now. Almost every part of this machine is surprisingly great and well worth the money you’ll be paying. However, it’s not perfect. It’s one thing if the display isn’t as vibrant as the average premium gaming laptop, but it’s another if it can’t match up to its $1,000 cheaper sibling. Plus, a webcam would be nice.

As for the 2021 Zephyrus G14, this won’t attract as much attention this year, with the G15 taking the prime time. It still gets the updated hardware and screens, and I’m curious whether the liquid metal and other thermal tweaks will help with the high temperatures in sustained loads, somewhat of an issue with the previous generation that required limiting the CPU for a friendlier gaming experience and improved reliability. I’d also expect some of the potential G14 customers to migrate to the smaller ROG Flow X13 when looking for a portable performance laptop.

We’re liking almost everything about the Zephyrus G15. It’s got a beautiful design, has a premium build, great display and performance, large RAM and storage, and good battery life. The lack of a built-in webcam can be a minor issue, especially to those who are into video calls a lot, but the external webcam kinda makes it up for it. The lack of RGB might be a minor downer for some, but not a deal-breaker. As for the price, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 GA503QS-HQ017TS (RTX 3080 8GB GDDR6 / 15″ WQHD / 165Hz / R9-5900HS / 1TB PCIE3 SSD / 16GB x 2) is priced at PHP 179,995. It’s a great option if you’re looking for something that is close to the power of the top-of-the-line Zephyrus S17 but with a lower asking price.

It's hard to pick holes – serious or otherwise – in the Asus Zephyrus G15. The only improvements I would make would be the addition of a biometric webcam and a fingerprint scanner. But neither of those comes even close to being a deal-breaker. I’m not sure the top-end version I tested is the best-value model in the range, but then quality always comes at a price. Everything else about the Zephrus G15 is spot on. This isn’t just a great follow-up to the G14, it’s also a supremely versatile laptop that should satisfy the demanding gamer, the creative wonk, the media binger and the general home or business user. Load up on guns, bring your friends, just as Messrs Cobain, Grohl and Novoselic suggested.

We were already super impressed with the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 last year, calling it one of our favorite gaming laptops ever, but this year's G15 model really pulls out all the stops. Packing a super-powerful AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS chip and an Nvidia 3080 GPU along with a super-smooth 2560x1440 screen at 165hz with G-sync, the G15 is a powerhouse. It also looks pretty darn nice, and sports an excellent keyboard and decent battery life. It can even manage Cyberpunk 2077 on the go, what more do you need?

On paper, this Zephyrus G15 is an incredible-value 15-inch portable laptop, with the fastest hardware available in this segment as of early 2021, good inputs and IO, excellent speakers, a big battery, and what I consider to be the best multi-purpose display available right now. The value is in the 3070 and 3060 configurations, though, not in the expensive 3080 models, given the little performance gains these deliver in comparison. Furthermore, Asus took some weird decisions with this series, with an impact on its everyday practicality, performance in demanding loads, and thermals, among others. We'll get in-depth in the lengthy review down below.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 is a capable all-arounder 15-inch portable laptop. It performs brilliantly in heavy loads and combines powerful hardware with a compact design and a punchy, responsive screen, making it an excellent choice for everyday use, gaming, and even colour-accurate work. The company has launched two variants in India with AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS processor and the Ryzen 9 5900HS processor. We will review the latter. While the ROG Zephyrus G15 is more suitable as a gaming laptop, it is still relatively compact and manages to pack an eight-core CPU along with RTX 3060 GPU within its chassis. The ROG Zephyrus G15 effectively combines everything that’s nice about the ROG Zephyrus G14 and improves it. The end result is a sleek laptop designed to give excellent performance. The ROG Zephyrus G15 is a gaming laptop that also caters to content creators, as those who follow the tech industry know. Now it’s time to get into the gritty details of what makes the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 such a powerful laptop.

I think I made my thoughts about this laptop clear with the first few lines of this review. But, if you have reached here, let me highlight once again that the Zephyrus G15 is one of the best gaming laptops you can buy right now and that too, without breaking a bank. Yes, Rs 1,46,990 is not an amount everyone can spend but, it’s also what people end up paying for a capable gaming machine. The Ryzen 9 5900HS and the RTX 3060 GPU ensure that you get a seamless performance, the display is a delight and you managed to squeeze impressive amount of battery life. The only disappointments are the lack of a webcam and average audio quality. If that’s not an issue for you, then the ROG Zephyrus G15 should be the gaming laptop to spend this year.

ASUS has a ton of gaming laptops to its name but every year, only a couple of them manage to shine through and land under the spotlight. After using the ROG Zephyrus G15 extensively for about 2-3 weeks now, I think ASUS has packed in pretty much everything I want from a solid gaming laptop in 2021. It's relatively lightweight, looks fantastic without any obnoxious RGB lighting, and it packs some impressive hardware inside that can keep you glued to it for long gaming sessions without breaking a sweat.

The Zephyrus G15 is not a loud or flamboyant RGB-lit gaming laptop that you can show off, yet the subtle design makes you look at it twice. It can blend into your office meetings, and at the same time, it has the raw power to deliver an excellent gaming experience. If I had to nitpick, the lack of a built-in webcam and probably the display’s peak brightness would be the only faults I could point out on this laptop. Is this a recommended purchase? Definitely. It is perfect for gamers as well as creative professionals to some extent. The powerful chipsets on the inside, a sleek and minimalistic design, and excellent battery life make the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 one of the best gaming laptops to buy today. The laptop is available at a starting price of about $1850 in the US for the base variant that includes the RTX 3070 GPU and the option of going further with an RTX 3080.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 is easily one of the best gaming laptops on the market right now. Thanks to the latest AMD Ryzen 9 and Nvidia RTX 3070 hardware, you get desktop-replacement performance paired with fantastic battery life and a genuinely stylish design, something few gaming laptops can claim. Just don't try to do any Zoom meetings with it.

The Zephyrus G15 is a fast gaming notebook with understated looks and excellent battery life, at a reasonable price point. It used to be that notebooks carried a big premium to afford portability. However, considering the odd times in which we live, where discrete desktop parts are in high demand and routinely sell for more than twice their MSRP, a gaming notebook like the Zephyrus G15 might just be the most economical way to upgrade. Those of you in the market for a speedy, stylish system with great graphics and CPU chops, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 is definitely one to consider.

The G15’s secret weapon is its processor. All models have AMD’s monstrous eight-core Ryzen 9 5900HS. My test model, priced at $1,799.99, pairs that chip with Nvidia’s new GeForce RTX 3070 (an 80W version, with dynamic boost up to 100W), as well as 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. This configuration is a step above the base model, which includes an RTX 3060 and 512GB of storage. There are also two RTX 3080 models — pair it with 16GB of RAM for $1,999.99 or 32GB of RAM for $2,499.99. (I think my test model hits a sweet spot: 512GB of storage isn’t a lot for a gaming laptop, and it seems like the RTX 3080 models are fairly low-clocked and don’t perform hugely better than the lower-tier options.)

The 4.2 lb / 1.9kg laptop has a magnesium alloy lid and keyboard deck, a chill and premium design with plenty of ports, yet is priced significantly below competitors like the Razer Blade 15 Advanced and MSI GS66 Stealth. The Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 retails for Rs 1,29,990 and for the price, is a capable device that can act as your gaming and work companion simultaneously. It has a stellar battery life to back it up along with a sturdy design and a great display. However, with the new Ryzen 6000 series now rolling out on laptops, the G15’s 5900HS can feel a bit outdated. In fact, buyers looking to squeeze every ounce of value out of their purchase will probably be better off with the ASUS TUF A17, which costs the same albeit employs a Ryzen 6800H and an RTX 3060 GPU. That said, buyers looking for a pint-sized laptop that can run games admirably will find plenty to like about the Zephyrus G15 as well.
