The ASUS ExpertBook B1 is actually a pretty decent commercial laptop that ticks most of the right boxes. It runs pretty cool, has a good keyboard, and is relatively compact. I also really appreciate the comprehensive port selection, which includes even a legacy VGA port. The expandability is also very nice, especially since you can throw in an inexpensive 2.5″ SATA drive to upgrade your storage. The weight is on the heftier side of things, but ASUS will point you towards the pricier ExpertBook B5 or B9, if you want a lighter laptop.

The ASUS Expertbook B1400 is a thin and light laptop that has high versatility and a lot of features. It is very portable and has a solid build quality that can easily withstand daily wear and tear. The laptop also has a good selection of I/O ports, a decently capable processor, a great keyboard, and a lot more. However, the ASUS Expertbook B1400 does have a few chinks in its armour but they aren’t severe enough to stop it from getting our recommendation.

Like every laptop out there, the ExpertBook B1 B1500 has its ups and downs. Impressively, the performance is one of its advantages, as it puts the Core i7-1165G7 to good use. Additionally, you have quite a good amount of upgrade options, as well, including one SODIMM slot, an M.2 slot, and a 2.5-inch SATA drive bay. At the end of the day, ASUS didn’t do a bad job with that laptop. They could have made it better, but generally, we feel that it matches the expectations set by the price. After all, something should be given up in order to make the device more affordable.

The ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1400 represents a highly durable and powerful ultraportable with a useful NumberPad 2.0 touchpad, generous amounts of storage as well as a diverse variety of ports. In its most powerful configuration, the laptop proves to be an immensely capable, if slightly heavier than usual business laptop that is ideal for paperwork related tasks though the middling display which has modest colour accuracy in all possible variants mean that it’s not the best choice for content creators.

If you are looking for something that can replace a clunky desktop setup, the ASUS ExpertBook B1500 shows that it is one of the viable desktop replacement laptops you can buy in our review of the device for the Philippines. Being a thick and heavy laptop, the ExpertBook B1 (B1500) makes up for that with flexible expandability options and diverse port selection that include legacy ports. The ExpertBook B1 (B1500) compromises battery life with its undersized battery pack, but that should not be a big deal since people who plan to purchase this laptop will use it tethered to an outlet like most gaming laptops.

Due to its low price, Asus' ExpertBook B1 does not only seem suitable for office and business use, but also for private use. We will clarify whether this impression is true in our review.

Supporting up to 48GB of RAM and 3TB of storage (2TB HDD, 1TB SSD), the Asus ExpertBook B1 B1500 is a versatile and potentially very capable business laptop. It's solidly built and offers plenty of connectivity, including VGA and RJ-45 Ethernet, making this a suitable laptop for offices that still use legacy monitors and wired network connections. However, these plus points are offset by a 15.6-inch screen that's short on resolution and brightness, disappointing battery life, a basic speaker and an unrewarding keyboard. Unless you really need all those on-device connections, you may find that offerings from traditional business laptop vendors such as Lenovo, HP and Dell fit the bill better.

If you want a solid Windows-based business notebook but don’t have an astronomical high budget, I recommend getting the Asus ExpertBook B1400. The notebook is lightweight, has almost all the ports, comes equipped with a fingerprint reader and other security and IT management suite built-in. But it has battery life similar to most other laptops in the same price range.

We were really pleasantly surprised by the performance of this machine. Although the internal temperature of the device was pretty high with the “Performance” preset, the clock speeds were pretty much unmatched in the long run. This means you can compile your code faster, or do more things at the same time without the device lagging behind your enthusiasm for work. We have to say that this is mainly thanks to the decently-calculated cooling solution, the ErgoLift mechanism, and the enormous vent on the bottom panel. Now it’s time for some cons. Although the I/O is super wide, it lacks a MicroSD card reader. This is weird because the product images of this laptop clearly show the presence of such a slot. Additionally, we aren’t particularly happy with the rigidity of the plastic base. On the bright side, it houses a pleasant keyboard and a fingerprint reader embedded onto the power button. At the end of the day, ASUS is making a strong statement that it’s intending to battle for the top places in the business laptop market. It won’t be easy for them, but they are clearly on the right track.
