The Aqara H2 EU Shutter Switch is now available in Europe. Designed for motorized roller blinds and awnings, it joins other smart home products in the brand’s range which are designed for this market, like the Light Switch H2 EU.
Aqara’s H2 EU Shutter Switch has four buttons across two up/down panels, with the left set used to adjust the position of the blinds. Through the app, users can select an opening position between 1 and 100%, which can be triggered by the buttons or scheduled for a particular time of day. The two other buttons can be used to trigger broader smart home scenes or control other devices, with single press, double press, and press and hold controls. There is a subtle indicator LED, though only during operation, and you can monitor energy consumption in the app.
The H2 EU Shutter Switch supports both the Zigbee and Thread protocols. Zigbee can be used to connect the device to a wide range of Aqara smart home products. Using Thread, you can directly integrate with Matter compatible smart home ecosystems, like Apple Home, Google Home and Home Assistant. However, users will also need a Matter Controller or Thread Edge Router for this functionality. The device measures 86 x 86 x 11 mm (~3.4 x 3.4 x 0.4 inches) frame, and it works with 55 mm (~2.1 inches) modular systems.
You can now buy the Aqara H2 EU Shutter Switch at the brand's online store and at Amazon in European countries like the UK, the Netherlands, Spain and Germany for £59.99/€59.99. Whether or when versions of this product could launch in other markets like the US is unclear.
