Apple iPhone 16 Pro: Render images show radically scaled-down Dynamic Island, analyst describes camera upgrades
AppleTrack, in collaboration with ConceptCentral, has published new render images showing the iPhone 16 Pro. Compared to the iPhone 15 Pro, one innovation in particular can be seen: the significantly smaller Dynamic Island.
Apple is reported to have hidden most of the components required for Face ID facial recognition under the AMOLED panel, with only the selfie camera still located in a visible punch hole. This makes the Dynamic Island much smaller, which gives the display a little more space. According to earlier rumors, however, this new version of the Dynamic Island will only be used in the iPhone 17 Pro, so these render images should be viewed with caution.

Rumors suggest that Apple will add a new button to control the camera on the right side of the frame, while the existing buttons will receive haptic feedback via a vibration motor, and the displays of both Pro models will each increase by 0.2 inches diagonally, meaning the iPhone 16 Pro will measure 6.3 inches and the iPhone 16 Pro Max 6.9 inches.
Meanwhile, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has often proved to be extremely reliable in the past, has revealed new details about the expected camera upgrades. Accordingly, Apple is replacing the 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with its 1/3.6-inch sensor on the iPhone 16 Pro with a new 48 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a significantly larger 1/2.6-inch sensor. Only on the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro will the selfie camera receive a significant upgrade to a 24 MP sensor and a 6P lens.
