Apple Watch Series 7 hits rumored delay but colorful new concept renders should ease the wait for fans
Both Nikkei Asia and Bloomberg are reporting that the Apple Watch Series 7 production has been hit by a delay. While small-scale production had apparently already been started, multiple issues were discovered as proceedings were ramped up. Nikkei Asia reports problems relating to the gadget's complex assembly, with the Series 7 Watch offering updated technology, such as a blood-pressure monitor, in comparison to previous iterations.
Bloomberg reporters Debby Wu and Mark Gurman reveal that the problem causing a temporary halt on the Apple Watch Series 7 mass manufacturing could be related to the display. A “different lamination technique” should bring the Watch Series 7’s display closer to the cover glass, contributing to the overall new look that the 2021 Apple smartwatch is expected to bring with it. However, these innovations are purportedly causing the assemblers something of a headache at the moment.
While there have been rumors that the Apple Watch Series 7 could be released in September or possibly October, fortunately for the company no official release date has been set, which means it is possible for Apple to delay the Series 7 Watch’s launch until production is running smoothly without ruffling too many feathers. In the meantime, fans can enjoy some sterling concept work by PhoneArena that shows the smartwatch with the familiar square-shaped case and in a range of colors.
