China-based manufacturer Anycubic has introduced a new 3D printer compact enough to be easily carried in a travel briefcase. It features five rotational axes, allowing the unit to fold into a shape that's only 75 mm tall.

Anycubic has showcased a brand-new 3D printer, and the main highlight of the unit is that it comes with five rotational axes. That allows the device to fold into something that measures only 75 mm tall. Now, even with such a travel-friendly feature, this portable 3D printing device can print up to 460 mm high, allowing users to 3D print projects of varying sizes.

With the multi-axis arms, the print head of this portable 3D printer is said to be capable of stopping at position as well. Given the size, Anycubic could only fit a small screen on the front, and as there are no buttons on the front, it should be a touchscreen display. As for the back, it has a decent number of ports, including one USB-C, one micro-HDMI, and what appears to be two USB-A ports.

The portable 3D printer's extruder system has an active cooling fan, which is there to prevent filament jams. It also sports a drawer-style filament spool holder, which tucks into the base of the printer. Speaking of filaments, the printer's nozzle appears to be standard size. If that holds true, it should be compatible with different filament types, including PLA, TPU, and PETG (Creality CR PETG 1 kg black spool curr. $12.99 on Amazon).

As for the other design aspects, the new portable 3D printer from Anycubic comes with a square-shaped print bed. While the company hasn't provided much details about the materials, the official pictures suggest that the bed is made of glass. That should allow easy removal of 3D prints.

There's no word on the price and availability either. However, this travel-friendly 3D printer isn't expected to be commercially available until the end of 2025.
