HTC made good on earlier rumors by bringing Android 7.0 to the HTC 10 on Friday.

We reported earlier this week that HTC was rumored to bring Android 7.0 to several handsets, including the HTC 10. It appears the rumor was true, as HTC announced via its U.S. Twitter page that the 10 would start getting the update this previous Friday.

The update is a welcome one, as Nougat brings some great features. On top of the usual stability and security tweaks, the Android update improves multi-window support, quick settings, and notifications. HTC has been known to use a very clean and light skin on top of Android, keeping useful features like BlinkFeed. This update should be very similar and keep the device running smoothly.

The rollout to Nougat began on Friday, so more devices should be seeing the update soon. As is typically the case, the time frame for availability will most likely depend on the individual user’s cell network provider. Note that the update is only for HTC 10 devices in the United States. HTC hasn’t released word on when other regions will receive the update.
