HTC 10, One M9 and One A9 to get Android Nougat

HTC 10 Android flagship to get Android 7.0 Nougat update

Now that Google confirmed Android 7.0 Nougat, HTC makes it clear that HTC 10, HTC One A9 and HTC One M9 will all get the update.

About a month ago, the next major Android version was simply known as Android N. Back then, HTC revealed a list of handsets scheduled to get the update. This week, Google unveiled both the name and version number of Android N, so HTC felt the need to make it clear nothing is changing, and its update plans remain the same.

Yesterday, HTC unleashed the following message on Twitter: "So sweet. Android Nougat—the next version of Google’s Android—will be coming to the HTC 10, HTC One A9 & HTC One M9." Now we also know that Android Nougat will be known as 7.0 and not 6.1 as some rumors claimed. While this does not come as a surprise, the name did, since most sources mentioned Android Nutella instead of Nougat.

Unfortunately, there is no date of arrival for this update yet. As usual, HTC's update schedule will depend on the seed date of the Release Candidate build to Google's partners. Android 7.0 Nougat is expected to show up in Q3, so owners of the HTC handsets mentioned earlier should get it before the end of 2016.
