We haven’t heard much about the HTC One X10 since a few months ago when a couple images leaked showing the phone’s front and back, giving us a vague idea of the phone’s appearance. Evan Blass tweeted some additional images of the device that seem intended for HTC’s promotional materials, highlighting the phone’s aluminum exterior and ample battery.
Battery life seems to be one of the primary aspects HTC is using to market the HTC One X10, using the phrase “Big style meets bigger battery” as a descriptive phrase. This “bigger battery,” according to the new leaks, has a capacity of 4000mAh and HTC says users can expect almost two days of usage. As for style, HTC appears to have brought over ideas from their midrange phone, the Desire 10.
This focus on battery life represents an evolution of HTC’s priorities for their devices. Back in 2012, HTC’s Bjorn Kilburn said that the company specifically avoided making phones with what was then considered a high-capacity 3000mAh battery to allow them to make thinner devices than the competition. Hopefully, their new strategy can help reverse the company’s poor financial outlook, as the company posted an operating loss of $116.8 million in Q4 2016.
