Anbernic has shared new details about its next gaming handheld after announcing it last week. Initially, the company highlighted the device's design and launch colours in a short video. Now, it has elaborated on last week's reveal with a new video that we have embedded below.
In short, the video runs through a few of the systems that the RG476H is powerful enough to emulate like Dreamcast, PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo Wii. Based on Anbernic's past behaviour, it will likely re-use a chipset found in other recent releases like the RG Slide, RG477M or RG557 (curr. $299 on Amazon). Thus, there is a good chance that the RG476H features the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 or Unisoc T820.
Moreover, Anbernic has confirmed that the RG476H contains a 4.7-inch IPS display running at 1,280 x 960 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits peak brightness and a 1,200:1 contrast ratio. Sourced from BOE, the custom panel can already be found across the RG477M and RG Slide. While those pair have their own niches, the RG476H will have rivals like the Ayaneo Pocket AIR Mini and the Retroid Pocket 5 to contend with, among others. According to Retro Dodo, Anbernic has informed it that the RG476H will retail for $174.99 globally.
