If you are on the search for a portable SSD, the Samsung T7, and its rugged variant, the Samsung T7 Shield portable SSDs are heavily discounted on Amazon.
Samsung has its fingers in many pies and among its product portfolio are storage devices such as MicroSD cards and SSDs. When it was first released in 2020, the Samsung T7 had a launch price of $369.99 for the 2TB version.
While it has seen its price crash multiple times since launch, Amazon is currently offering a 48% discount on the 2TB capacity which brings the price down to $136.99. The discount isn't applicable to the Red variant which retains its full price of $265.
The Samsung T7 has a PCIe NVME SSD with read and write speeds of up to 1,050MB/s and 1000 MB/s respectively and USB 3.2 Gen 2 connectivity. It has a compact design, allowing it to fit into pockets. It also has a wide range of compatibility — alongside using it with a PC, it can also be used with gaming consoles, digital cameras, and even smartphones such as the iPhone 15, even allowing users to record directly onto it.
Amazon has also slashed the price of the Samsung T7 Shield (2TB version), the more rugged version of the Samsung T7. It has the same read and write speeds as the standard variant but differs with its rugged rubber exterior which provides added protection from falls up to 9.8 feet. It also has an IP65 dust and water resistance rating which means it will survive immersion in water or use in a dusty environment.
With a list price of $284.99, the Samsung T7 Shield 2TB variant can now be purchased for $148.05 for a limited time. The discount is also available for all three color options - Black, Beige, and Blue.
