Amazon is known for its Fire Tablet line which is available in different sizes. These tablets also have a kids edition with colorful rugged cases, custom software tailored for kids, parental controls, and a 2-year worry-free guarantee. Now, Amazon is running a limited-time discount on the largest and top model in the series, the Fire HD 10 Kids Pro.

Released in 2023, the Fire HD 10 Kids Pro (13th generation) is made for older kids between ages 6 to 12 years. It has a 10.1-inch full HD display with a 1920 × 1200 resolution, an octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage. It also has a 5MP camera on both sides that can record in 1080p.

It features an audio jack, stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB-C 2.0 port. According to Amazon, the battery life for the Fire HD 10 Kids Pro is up to 13 hours on a single charge, and a full charge takes about 3 hours with a 15W adapter. However, Amazon ships it with a 9W adapter that takes a little longer to fully charge. It also has a slimmer kid-friendly case with a kickstand.

Originally priced at $189.99, the Fire HD 10 Kids Pro is currently available to buy for $134.99, 29% or $55 off its launch price. For that amount, you not only get the tablet, but also get a free 1-year digital subscription to Amazon Kids+ which provides access to ad-free books, videos, apps, and games that help kids learn in a fun way. According to Amazon, kids will have access to content from Nat Geo, PBS, Disney, Marvel, and LEGO. After 1 year, the subscription will auto renew at $5.99/month.

If your kids are younger, Amazon is also selling the Fire HD 10 Kids for $134.99 (originally $189.99), albeit limited to the Blue and Micky Mouse edition. Made for kids aged 3 to 7, this version has a thicker kid-proof case and the pre-set age filters are for kids between the aforementioned age range. The pre-installed web-browser will also provide access to hand-picked sites, whereas the pro model has an open-but-filtered web browser.

Regardless of the version, parents will be able to set screen time limits, block websites, approve app purchases and downloads, and even pause the device right from their phones. Amazon also sells additional accessories such as a rugged Bluetooth keyboard with a trackpad, allowing it to be used for assignments, thus serving as an alternative to a laptop. There's also a stylus for writing and coloring, a pair of Bluetooth headphones, a screen protector, and a backpack.
