Alcatel's first ever smartwatch comes with a premium design and support for both iOS and Android devices, all for a competitive price.

Alcatel OneTouch has just unveiled their first smartwatch, simply called Watch. According to the official press release, this wearable "puts a premium on elegant design at a very accessible price" and comes packed with sensors and apps that allow tracking of daily activity, also offering long battery life and excellent compatibility with a wide range of smartphones.

Alcatel OneTouch Watch is available in several styles, including all-white, metal-white, dark red/volcano black and has the following specs and features:

  • Chipset: STM429
  • Display: 1.22-inch, 262K
  • Connectivity/Compatibility: Bluetooth 4.0; Android 4.3+ and iOS 7+
  • Sensors: accelerometer, gyro, altimeter, NFC tag, e-compass, heart rate
  • Battery/Autonomy: 210 mAh; up to 5 days on a single charge which takes about one hour

This wearable can be used as a remote for the connected smartphone, thus allowing its user to control music, take photos from a distance, and even make the handset ring to locate it. The Alcatel OneTouch Watch also vibrates if its user goes too far from the handset and a reliable connection is no longer possible.

Unfortunately, the press release only mentioned "a very accessible price" without any other details. Various unofficial sources claim the device will hit the market via Amazon in March, priced at $149 USD. For now, it can be seen at Alcatel OneTouch's CES 2015 booth (#9829).
