IFA 2014 | Alcatel OneTouch introduces Pop 2 lineup
Alcatel OneTouch unveiled at IFA 2014 in Berlin a whole new family of 4G LTE devices powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 410 processor, "demonstrating its commitment to democratising the LTE market by introducing the richest product portfolio in entry-level smartphones." According to the official press release, the Alcatel OneTouch Pop 2 family of products comes in five panel sizes and also five covers that come together with each device.
Pop 2 stands out thanks to the download booster which uses 4G LTE and WiFi simultaneously to allow "an unparalleled download speed." It will be available in 4.5-inch and 5.5-inch sizes, but the press release does not provide much information regarding their detailed specs and features.
Pop 8S is Alcatel OneTouch's slate they advertise as "most competitive LTE 8-inch entry level tablet available to the mass market" which can provide "seamless multitasking between gaming, streaming music or browsing." It features 4G LTE connectivity and voice calling support, as well as dedicated TV companion capabilities.
The devices can still be seen at IFA 2014 in Berlin, at booth 103 in hall 21. Unfortunately, pricing is not known but it looks like these novelties will hit the market later this fall. Most information should be unveiled soon, as the press release mentions five panel sizes but also uncovers only three.
