Budget-conscious gamers will likely be quite pleased to find out that the Gigabyte Aero X16, powered by the Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU and GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU, is currently enjoying a sizeable $350 discount on Best Buy which drops its price down to just $1,299 - its lowest ever.

As stated, the Gigabyte Aero X16 gaming laptop boasts the Zen 5-based AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU with an 8-core, 16-thread setup that allows it to outperform the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H. According to our review, the Aero X16 gaming laptop refuses to throttle its CPU even under sustained load as indicated by our Cinebench test loop. The 85 W RTX 5070 Laptop GPU performs as well as one might expect, pulling small but noticeable improvements over its predecessor.

Of course, the paltry 8 GB of VRAM is mighty concerning, and is undoubtedly bad news for gamers who wish to keep their laptops for a number of years. However, as of 2025, some relatively heavy QHD gaming is easily doable on the Aero X16 gaming laptop. The lack of an OLED display may also put off certain people, but as our detailed review indicates, the 16-inch 165 Hz IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 is unlikely to leave any room for complaint for the vast majority of gamers. 

The gaming laptop comes equipped with 32 GB of DDR5 memory and 1 TB of solid-state storage, both of which are thankfully user-upgradeable, courtesy of dual SODIMM and dual M.2 2280 slots (1 TB WD SN7100 curr. $74.50 on Amazon). The fans do get pretty loud under load, and the bottom part of the chassis heats up to the point of being rather uncomfortable. Typing is not a problem, as the keyboard area remains cool enough under stress. The 76 Wh battery allows for a respectable battery life of roughly 8.5 hours when browsing the web on WiFi, which we found to be pretty average.
