Acer unveils the Predator Helios 300 in India, prices start from US$2028
Acer has launched the Predator Helios 300 series gaming laptops in India. At a press event in New Delhi, Acer India CMO and Consumer Business Head, Chandrahas Panigrahi said, "The Predator Helios 300 combines innovative design and unbeatable features that are sure to delight the gaming enthusiasts. Predator will be the brand to beat in the Indian gaming market."
The Predator Helios 300 was first launched in April 2017 at the [email protected] global press conference in New York alongside the higher end Triton 700. The Indian variant comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display powered by the NVIDIA GeForce 1060 or 1050Ti GPU. The laptops are based on the seventh generation Intel Core i7 7700HQ or the Intel Core i5 7300HQ with 8 GB DDR4 RAM (expandable upto 32 GB). Storage is provided by a combination of a 128 GB SSD and a 1 TB HDD. Memory and storage can be easily upgraded via a single compartment underneath the chassis. Gaming laptops suffer from the bane of thermals and the accompanying fan decibels going up pretty high during intense gaming sessions. Acer claims to control this by virtue of their AeroBlade 3D fans, which feature extremely thin blades (0.1 mm thickness) to offer enhanced cooling and lower fan noise. The bundled PredatorSense software helps in easy temperature monitoring and overclocking.
The Predator Helios 300 comes with Dolby Audio Premium for enhanced audio output. The laptop features all the standard ports expected in a high-end machine — 1x Gigabit Ethernet, 2x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.0, 1x USB 3.1 Type C, 1x HDMI 2.0 and a 2-in-1 card reader. It also comes with an 802.11ac 2x2 MIMO WiFi card.
The Acer Predator Helios 300 retails for ₹ 1,49,999 (US$ 2340) for the Core i7 model and ₹ 1,29,999 (US$ 2028) for the Core i5 model and is available in the Indian market exclusively via Flipkart. The online retailer is currently offering a rebate of up to ₹ 15,000 (US$ 234) for exchange of any old working laptop.
