Deal | Acer Swift 16 AI laptop featuring Core Ultra 7 256V APU and 120 Hz OLED panel falls to historic-low price again
While Intel may not be doing too well these days with a string of underwhelming launches, the company did manage to release a series of highly efficient Lunar Lake APUs last year. These APUs are not performance champs by any means, but they do give Windows laptops a healthy boost in battery life. For instance, in our review of the Acer Swift 14 AI, we noted that the laptop lasted an impressive 12.5 hours in our WLAN test with a 65 Wh battery.
So, if a Windows laptop that can last all day on a single charge is on your wishlist, Intel Lunar Lake machines are a good place to start your search. This is especially true now, since you can currently find Lunar Lake-based notebooks on sale.
Case in point, the Acer Swift 16 AI laptop is enjoying a hefty $350 discount at Best Buy. As a result, the laptop has slid down to its record-low price of $849.99, a figure which was first seen in December 2024 (linked at the end).
The discounted Acer Swift 16 AI price gets you a Core Ultra 7 256V APU, 16 GB RAM, and 512 GB of storage. Unlike the memory, the storage can be expanded to a max of 2 TB thanks to an M.2 slot. Rounding off the insides are a Wi-Fi 7/BT 5.4 module and a 75 Wh battery.
On the outside, the large 16-inch panel dominates the front with a 5 MP webcam occupying the space above the display. The OLED display boasts a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 and refreshes a silky 120 Hz. The panel also supports touch input and covers the full DCI-P3 gamut.
Ports-wise, Acer has implemented a good selection with a mix of two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two Type-A, an HDMI 2.1 out, and a 3.5 mm jack. There is no microSD/SD card reader which may be a bummer for some. However, you can get one for around $10 on Amazon.
If our review of the smaller Acer Swift 14 AI is any indication, the Acer Swift 16 AI should be a pretty capable laptop with long battery life, an excellent display, and good construction. The Swift 16 AI is also lightweight for its screen size, coming in only at 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs).
So, from a purely hardware perspective, the Acer Swift 16 AI on sale is a lot of laptop for less than $900.
