Acer Swift 1 SF114-31-P6F6
While Core i and Core m processors are great not everyone can afford them. With that said it is also common for the unsung heroes of the CPU market space to be the real market movers here. One of them being the Acer Swift 1, its main competition being chromebooks which are great for internet surfing. Starting with its specs the Acer Swift 1 sports an Intel Pentium N3710 processor, 4 GB of memory and 128 GB of eMMC flash, that’s right not your standard SSD based storage that we’ve all become used to. So, how does this platform stackup? The Acer Swift 1 chassis construction is mainly made out of plastic with some aluminium also being used. While plastic seems synonymous with fragile and inelegant the Acer Swift 1 is actually well built and designed with stylish being a prominent theme here. Once again as this is a budget build, users should not expect much from its IO which is made up of 2 USB type A ports with 1 of the ports being the 3.0 standard. Despite being a budget device Acer should have at least included 1 USB type C port since it is becoming prevalent in most new notebooks. Next in line would be the user input. The Swift 1 has your standard chiclet based keyboard which the keys are decently sized, just like the Acer Spin series the keycaps are also roughly textured which helps with finger grip. In terms of keystrokes, it remains shallow but with a clear pressure point for feedback which should satisfy typists even when typing for long periods. One downside of this keyboard however is the lack of a backlight although this isn’t really a deal breaker. Nonetheless having it included would have been great. Going along to the touchpad the included touchpad is large and roomy enough without resorting to a mouse in most cases along with its smooth textures finger gliding is a pleasant experience. The touchpad also has a clear and well-defined click which is great since most click integrated touchpads seem to either have a mushy feeling. The included LCD panel is a little bit disappointing because of its somewhat low resolution at 1366x768, even its cousin the Acer Spin 1 has an IPS FHD panel. Which is not to say the resolution is not usable but leaves users wanting more. Media playback can be somewhat off a miss with this resolution. In the audio department, the speakers feel disappointing but then again it is to be expected for a notebook of this price bracket. Overall sound quality seems to be on the skinny side with nonexistent bass. This makes having a pair of headphones or external speakers as a must. Finally, with battery life the Acer Swift 1 manages to score 11 hours and 1 minutes on Wi-Fi which is impressive since most of its components are power sippers and not power guzzlers which is somewhat a tradeoff but nonetheless a much needed one. In the end although the Acer Swift 1 may be the lowest performing and cheapest model in its lineup it doesn’t need to cower over its lackluster hardware specs because end of the day it does its job in its targeted market segment. Enduring mobility. Acer's 14-inch laptop pleases with its silent system and very long battery life. This is due to the combination of a Braswell processor and high-capacity battery. With a price of 400 Euros (~$422), it is also an affordable device.

The Acer Swift 1 is an ultra-portable that hits the sub-$350 price point by making a few hard choices. If you don't mind a puny solid-state drive and average performance, the Acer Swift 1 might be the laptop for you. For anyone else, though, I'd recommend forking over more cash for a faster ultra-portable (an expense that may pay off later in longevity), or settling for a bigger laptop without such steep speed compromises (like the $350 Acer Aspire E 15). At the very least, Swift 1 shoppers should upgrade to the $400 version with a roomier 128GB SSD.

When checking the price of the Swift 3, I came across a bit of an anomaly. As supplied to me, the 64GB SSD version of the product is listed, at the time of writing, at £469.97 at Amazon.co.uk. Listed directly below this entry is the 128GB SSD version of the product and this is priced at £439.99 which does seem to be a far better bargain.

The Acer Swift 1 is largely a great combination of premium looks and budget performance. It’ll be too slow for more demanding users but a good option for more casual users.

The Acer Swift 1 is perhaps the most expensive-looking and feeling laptop Windows 10 laptop you can get for £350.A metal shell, solid keyboard and trackpad, and a 13.3in Full HD IPS screen are all to be celebrated.

The Swift is a good bargain for the budget-conscious consumer, especially if you're a college student. This laptop is both light enough to take with you to class and stylish enough to spark conversation. Between the businesslike design and full HD display, this machine really passes for a premium product. While it looks great and can handle basic tasks like writing papers or watching YouTube videos, it gets bogged down pretty easily.

The $329 Acer Swift 1 SF1113-31 P5CK is a striking ultraportable that offers plenty for the price, including USB Type-C compatibility, a bright and colorful display, and clear audio. The machine's Pentium N4200 processor is reliable for office- and school-related tasks, while also providing decent performance for streaming. However, the Swift 1's battery life is much shorter than that of its competitors.

Acer: In 1976, the company was founded in Taiwan under the name Multitech and was renamed Acer or Acer Group in 1987. The product range includes, for example, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors, TVs and computer peripherals. Since 2007, the group has merged with Gateway Inc. and Packard Bell, which also market their own laptop product lines.
Acer computers are designed for a variety of purposes, including ultrabooks for mobile use, gaming laptops for gamers, affordable options for everyday tasks, and 2-in-1 convertible laptops for versatility. Acer's product portfolio also includes tablets that offer portable computing and multimedia capabilities.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Intel Pentium:
N3710: Notebook CPU with an integrated quad core Atom processor clocked at 1.1 - 2.56 GHz, an Intel HD Graphics 405 GPU and a dual channel DDR3L-1600 memory controller.
Pentium N4200: An Apollo Lake family, quad-core, ultra-low-power processor (SoC) that saw the light of day in 2016. Its four CPU cores run at 1.1 GHz to 2.5 GHz; these are not Hyper-Threading-enabled meaning there are no additional threads. This chip has a fairly competent integrated graphics solution, the Intel HD Graphics 505, and eats very little (~6 W). The Pentium N4200 is based on the Goldmont CPU microarchitecture that came to replace Silvermont (2013), bringing with it several welcome improvements. The CPU is Secure Boot-compatible; technically, it will have no issue running 64-bit Windows 11. The average N4200 in our database competes with the Core i5-3339Y, a low-power SoC launched in 2013, in multi-thread performance.
Intel Celeron:
N3060: SoC with an integrated dual core Atom processor clocked at 1.6 - 2.48 GHz, an Intel HD Graphics GPU and a dual channel DDR3L-1600 memory controller.
Celeron N3350: An Apollo Lake family, dual-core, ultra-low-power processor (SoC) that saw the light of day in 2016. Its two cores run at 1.1 GHz to 2.4 GHz; these are not Hyper-Threading-enabled meaning there are no additional threads. This chip has a fairly competent integrated graphics solution, the Intel HD Graphics 500, and eats very little (~6 W). The Celeron N3350 is based on the Goldmont CPU microarchitecture that came to replace Silvermont (2013), bringing with it several welcome improvements. The CPU is Secure Boot-compatible; technically, it will have no issue running 64-bit Windows 11. The average N3350 in our database is just as fast as the venerable Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 is in multi-thread loads; the two cores of this Celeron trail behind a single core of any half-decent CPU such as the Intel Core i3-7130U.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

72.51%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
