If you can afford it, we can see no reason to opt for anything else. Admittedly the screen, though fast, is the infinitesimally disappointing, but what Acer has managed to squeeze into the slimline form of the Predator Triton 500 is nothing short of remarkable.

Apart from that, the laptop is pretty much the same unit as last year, so if you have the top tier unit from back then, it would make no sense upgrading to this device. However, if you are going after the Triton 500, upgrading from an older machine, definitely look for this year’s model, if it’s available in your region. Also, don’t forget to check the Lenovo Legion 7 (15), which has pretty much the same hardware, but offers much better cooling, thanks to its vapor chamber.

The Acer Predator Triton 500 delivers outstanding gaming performance thanks to its fearsome internals and buttery-smooth 300Hz G-Sync screen. Better yet, it pulls it off in an incredibly portable form factor. Just don't leave your charger at home.

The Acer Predator Triton 500 impresses me more than any other laptop I’ve touched. It’s incredibly portable, more powerful than any lightweight rivals, and looks gorgeous. The high-contrast 300Hz G-Sync screen makes any game buttery-smooth. The Core i7-10750H pairs perfectly with Nvidia’s high-performance GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q for gaming. Acer also loaded this notebook with everything you could ask for, including plenty of ports and wireless connectivity.

Still the Triton 500 is a gaming laptop worth owning. You can get similarly priced systems from Razer, MSI and Alienware, which also perform well, but the Triton 500 holds its own, thanks to an ambitious screen and all-around solid specs. If you're looking to spend somewhere between $1,700 and $2,600 for a gaming laptop, the Triton 500 might be the right system, with the right design, at the right price.

On a first look, the 2020 Predator Triton 500 is merely a hardware bump of the 2019 model, with 10th gen processor, Nvidia Super graphics, and a 300 Hz screen. But it actually improves on a few other aspects, with a slightly revamped keyboard that now offers per-key RGB control, a cleaner exterior design with fewer branding elements, better-optimized performance profiles, and improved thermals. Some of the best thermals in the class, for that matter. However, Acer still needs to price this competitively in order to make it a viable option in its premium segment and make buyers look past its quirks.

15.60":
15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.
