IFA 2024 | Acer Predator Orion 7000: High-end pre-built gaming desktop announced with mystery Intel CPU, GeForce RTX 4080 and a Thunderbolt 4.0 port
Acer has announced an interesting new gaming desktop alongside its numerous products that include its first-ever gaming handheld. At first glance, the Predator Orion 7000 might look like your run-of-the-mill pre-built (and it will probably will be in a couple of months), but a cursory glance at its spec sheet reveals what could be Intel's Arrow Lake desktop CPUs. Of course, Acer won't reveal what they're called until Intel unveils them, and opts to title them "Intel next-gen processors"
You can configure your Acer Predator Orion 7000 with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, 32 GB of DDR5 6,000 RAM or 128 GB of DDR5 5,600 memory. The mystery CPU is kept cool by a Predator Cyclone X 360 mm AIO cooler. For storage, Acer offers up to 8 TB worth of SATA drives, 6 TB NVMe SSDs and removable drive bays to install your own SATA SSDs.
Understandably, Acer hasn't mentioned the Predator Orion 7000's motherboard platform, but one can reasonably assume it to be either Z890 or B860. With it, you get one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C port, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port, two USB 2.0 Type A ports, three USB 3.2 Gen2 10 Gbps Type-A ports, an RJ45 Ethernet jack and a trio of 3.5mm audio connectors. There's even a Thunderbolt 4.0 port included at the back of the case.
Lastly, Acer throws in a 1,200 Watt power supply with the Predator Orion 7000. Wireless connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 7. And yes, there's plenty of RGB with two front fans and one rear fan. The GPU is vertically mounted for better aesthetics and to prevent GPU sag. You also get a three-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass and a copy of Windows 11. Acer will reveal the Predator Orion 7000's price and availability at a later date.
