The Acer Nitro V 15 may be behind the times, especially when budget laptops like the MSI Cyborg 15 have modern specs like an RTX 4050 under the hood, but its price gives it an edge over those with beefier specs. It won’t turn heads with the visuals it pulls off, as its default graphics setting in most AAA games will be set to “low,” but if all you need is a decent system that offers good gameplay (along with a way watch shows, surf the web or work on documents), the Nitro V 15 offers great value. Yes, in a world where PC gaming alternatives like the Steam Deck OLED and Asus ROG Ally X exist, it gets harder to recommend similarly priced budget laptops made for gaming. However, laptops have become a more natural way to engage with everyday online tasks.

As configured, the Acer Nitro V 15 will cost you Rs 69,990 in India. While the 65W TDP RTX 3050 does seem underpowered compared to other options that offer a 75W variant, there’s not a lot of difference in gaming performance. As for day-to-day usage, the 13th-gen Intel i5 definitely impresses, and combined, the Nitro V 15 offers excellent performance for its price. The display, speakers, and build quality could all have been better, but for folks looking for a performance beast, the Nitro V 15 gets a solid thumbs up from us.

The Acer Nitro V 15 (ANV15-51) is a hybrid between the Nitro and the Aspire series. That’s okay because the laptop performs well in our tests. The cooling is potent enough so the CPU can reach high clocks even in prolonged periods of max stress. The only downside here is the high temperature, especially in short and medium loads. The GPU (the optional GeForce RTX 3050 (Laptop, 65W, 6GB)) has no problem maintaining 63W TGP alongside good thermals. The comfort under load can vary depending on the task. During CPU-intensive workloads in “Performance” mode, the fan noise is super intrusive (~7000 RPM) but if you use the device mainly for gaming, the noise levels will be much lower (~4400 RPM). That’s okay for an unpretentious device that doesn’t cost much. In addition, the keyboard doesn’t feel hot so you can work comfortably without sensing a big amount of heat under your fingers.

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

77.5%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
