AMD Tech Day | AMD confirms up to 32% performance boost for RDNA 3.5 when compared to RDNA 3 at 15W
The AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors are now confirmed to bring a big boost in GPU performance. AMD has revealed that the new RDNA 3.5 iGPU inside the Strix Point APUs can deliver anywhere from 19% to 32% improvement when compared to the RDNA 3 of Hawk Point.
In 3DMark TimeSpy, AMD shows that the RDNA 3.5 can deliver 32% higher performance than the Radeon 700M series at 15W. On 3DMark Night Raid, the new architecture of the Radeon 800M series iGPU can offer a 19% performance uplift over the iGPU of Hawk Point at the same TDP.
As for gaming benchmarks, AMD says that the performance gains will be anywhere from 27% to 65%, which is a rather big jump. When compared to the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, AMD shows that the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 can deliver 1.27x to 1.65x better gaming performance. The company has also compared the performance of its new flagship APU with Snapdragon X Elite X1E-84-100, but the Qualcomm chip couldn't run three out of the seven tests due to compatibility issues.
Besides that, AMD highlights some of the improvements that the RDNA 3.5 architecture brings. Among them are a 2x texture sampler rate, improved memory management, and 2x interpolation rates. Moreover, the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is shown to be anywhere from 1.2x to 3.8x better than the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H in content creation.
