A new "protective case" leak may confirm the Samsung Galaxy S21 series' new design
The well-known leaker IceUniverse claims to have official images of the Galaxy S21 Ultra's "case", now available to view on Twitter. The photo in question does indeed show what looks like such a phone accessory, in a material that could be real or vegan leather.
Besides its description as being made to fit what will probably be Samsung's most premium device of early 2021, it may also show how manufacturers intend to take its new and extreme rear-camera hump on.
Well, to be more accurate, it seems from this new leak that they won't, really. The case does not in fact cover the huge module at all, probably as it ostensibly engulfs an entire corner of the frame. Much the same can be said for a second image in IceUniverse's new thread.
This one is for what may be an S21 or S21+, pictured in a two-tone wallet case that may (again) be finished in high-end materials. This device, in accordance with its own prior leaks, also has a corner-hogging camera hump. However, this one does not extend to what looks like an even half of the top edge as with the "S21 Ultra" in its own case.
The non-Ultra variant is rendered here as having 3 rear-facing sensors, whereas the other has 4. This is where the new leak falls down a little: this putative S20 Ultra successor is now thought to have 5 lenses in its monster housing, 1 of which remains unidentified but may be a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor.
