The Galaxy S21 and S21+ are currently thought to switch to flat displays on their launch. A new set of renders may show potential owners for these devices what they might expect in the way of cases for their new phones. Meanwhile, another new leak suggests their Exynos 2100-powered variants are headed to the Indian market.

An earlier leak has shown how the putative top-end Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra might look with some cases on. Now, the prolific tipster Ice Universe has done the same for the Galaxy S21/21+. These two variants are thought to have flat displays rather than curved ones as in previous generations of flagship from this OEM.

Their latest leak suggests that this design choice enables case manufacturers to supply a traditional lip around this screen, as well as "normal" rear camera cut-outs, whereas this may not be possible for the S21 Ultra. Nevertheless, the new renders also incorporate the new kind of hump with which the S21 and S21+ are now linked.

This also means that their cases may require an additional piece of the backing removed for the flash module parked alongside it. In further S21 news, three new Samsung devices called the SM-G991B, SM-G996B and SM-G998B have reportedly been certified by the Indian standards authority BIS.

As one of these (the G996B, and, thus, possibly the S21+) has also been spotted on Geekbench with what seems to be the Exynos 2100 processor, this may mean all Indian-market units of the upcoming series are to have this silicon instead of the Snapdragon 875.

This is not usually a completely joyous prospect, although there are hints that this generation might compete better with its Qualcomm equivalent than in previous years.
