Google is working on a new 'Your Day' Gemini feature that could let you manage your daily activities in an upcoming update. It could take inspiration from Samsung's 'Now Brief' and pull in data from your Google apps to function.

Google is working on a new Gemini feature called Your Day, designed to give users a proactive snapshot of what’s coming up. The feature was first spotted in code strings tied to the Google App and Gemini, suggesting it could surface key details from across a user’s day directly within the app.

Gemini is already baked into many of the best Android phones, and Google appears to be doubling down on making it more useful. According to text strings in an APK teardown, Google's Gemini Your Day feature will let you “Receive a proactive feed from Gemini to stay ahead of your day.” It's fairly self-explanatory; Google will likely be pulling from data in your Google apps (think Gmail, Calendar, Messages, News) to curate a feed of things that would be of interest to you. It so, it'll be similar to what Google Discover does at the moment, but more relevant to your day-to-day activities and thus more useful.

Google continues to push Gemini as a marquee feature for mobile devices, with phones like the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro built around Gemini. Other Android phone makers have followed suit in pushing Gemini support as a key feature.

Samsung Now Brief for All

It's no secret that AI is everywhere in consumer technology right now, and Google wants everyone using Gemini for everything. The company has even debuted agentic AI for Gemini, allowing the assistant to complete tasks while you're not actively using it. Compared to that, a Your Day feature seems like small potatoes. However, if one considers engagement, allowing Gemini to surface important messages, emails, and appointments all on one screen is similar to Samsung's Daily Newsfeed but brought to all Android phones. It could drive further engagement with Gemini, and it could be especially valuable to those who are all in on Google services (as well as convincing those who are on the fringes).

Google hasn't shared much about this feature, but if development continues, expect to see a release in the coming months.
