Need for Speed Heat doesn't have those anime-like effects seen in the newer NFS Unbound game.
EA is currently running a discount on Need for Speed Heat Deluxe Edition, slashing it down to its lowest price ever on Steam. The $3.49 deal includes the base game and all Deluxe extras. It is easily one of the best racing game values available right now through March 19.

Steam is currently hosting a major promotion for Need for Speed Heat Deluxe Edition, cutting down the price by 95%. This brings the total down from the standard $69.99 to $3.49. Plus, this specific discount matches the all-time low for the title and is part of a recurring (but brief) sale cycle from Electronic Arts that comes around every now and then. The offer is scheduled to expire on March 19, 2026.

Key data

  • Current Price: $3.49 (95% off)
  • Historical Low: $3.49
  • Platform: PC (Steam)
  • Developer: Ghost Games
  • Initial Release: November 2019
  • Recent Player Peak: ~3,800 concurrent players

The Deluxe Edition comes with the base game along with several digital bonuses that are unavailable in the standard version. Specifically, players get a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X as a starter car and three additional K.S Edition cars (BMW i8 Coupe, Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe, and Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport) that unlock as you keep moving through through Reputation levels. The package also provides four exclusive character outfits and a 5% boost to both REP and Bank (in-game currency) earnings.

While the game itself is over six years old, it is the last NFS game developed by Ghost Games before the franchise returned to Criterion. It doesn't have those anime-like effects seen in the newer NFS Unbound, which also has a 90% discount running right now. Instead, Heat has a more traditional design - it's staged in Palm City with a whole lot of neon vibes.

What you get with the Deluxe Edition of NFS Heat

At this price point, the value is difficult to ignore. Heat is widely considered the best modern game in the series. There's a neat balance of daytime legal racing and illegal night racing (with intense police chases).

The game is also playable on the Steam Deck (curr. $1,100 on Amazon for the 1TB/OLED variant). While it does need the EA App launcher (which a lot of handheld users don't like), it generally runs at a stable 40-45 FPS on the Deck with a mix of medium and high settings. The player base is also surprisingly solid - SteamDB shows a steady peak of several thousand players daily. The fact that the online multiplayer component is still active is a great value addition to the deal.

In case arcade racers are you thing and you're okay with the EA launcher, this is the cheapest the game will ever be. It brings roughly 25 to 30 hours of story content and great car customization for the price of a mere coffee. You can visit the Steam store page for Need for Speed Heat: Deluxe Edition here.
