When it was officially available at $599, there was hardly any Windows laptop that could compete with the Apple MacBook Neo’s value. However, since the MacBook Neo now starts at $699 for 256 GB of storage and $799 for 512 GB of storage, you now have several Windows laptops that give Apple’s affordable MacBook a run for its money. One such machine is the discounted 2026 Lenovo Yoga 7a 2-in-1 laptop.
The Gen 11 Lenovo Yoga 7a is now retailing for just $749.99 at Best Buy, a discount of $550 on the list price. Armed with a Ryzen AI 5 430 APU, 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage, the Yoga 7a 14AGP11 is a well-specced Windows laptop for the price Best Buy is asking. This equation is made even better by the inclusion of a touch-sensitive 14-inch OLED panel with a 360-degree hinge, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and 400 nits of brightness. The MacBook Neo, in comparison, brings a non-touch IPS panel with 500 nits of brightness and 100% sRGB coverage.
The Lenovo Yoga 7a Gen 11 also packs a backlit keyboard, a large trackpad, and Wi-Fi 7/BT5.4. For security, the Yoga 7a has both an IR sensor for secure Windows facial log-in and a fingerprint reader. A fairly large 70 Wh battery powers the notebook.
Lenovo Yoga 7a 14AGP11 is well-built, portable, and long-lasting
In our in-depth review of the Lenovo Yoga 7a Gen 11, we noted that the metal chassis is both well-made and quite portable. We were also impressed by the strong battery life, input devices, and the awesome 1200p OLED display. Our main gripes with the Yoga 7a were the suboptimal temperatures and the somewhat underpowered CPU.
So, if you need a laptop that excels in everyday tasks, is portable to carry around, and has excellent battery life, the Yoga 7a fits the bill perfectly. Compared to the Apple MacBook Neo, the Yoga 7a might fall behind in performance, but it brings many features that the MacBook Neo lacks.
For instance, you can upgrade the storage of the Yoga 7a to 2 TB by using a Gen 4 SSD. The MacBook Neo doesn’t support such an upgrade.
