Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new self-developed smartphone SoC, the Xring O1. While the company hasn't officially shared how well it will compare against its competitors, a recently discovered Geekbench listing suggests that it will perform better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. But then again, that was an early benchmark listing, and it's possible that the SoC may offer better performance than expected.
The company has, however, just confirmed that the Xring O1 will be fully unveiled on May 22, 2025. It's the same event where Xiaomi will celebrate its 15th anniversary, and besides the new in-house SoC, the company is expected to launch other new products.
Among them is the Xiaomi 15S Pro, which is expected to feature the new self-developed Xring O1 SoC. Per past reports, this flagship phone will sport the same design as the other phones in the Xiaomi 15 series, and it will feature camera-focused enhancements.
In addition, Xiaomi has also confirmed that it will launch the Pad 7 Ultra. While not much is known about this rumored flagship tablet, it will reportedly feature the newly introduced Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. This upper mid-range SoC from Qualcomm offers slightly better performance than the 8 Gen 3 and is more efficient than the 8s Gen 3.
Other rumored specs of the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra include a 14-inch LTPO display, 3.2K resolution, and support for 120 W fast charging (150 W Anker GaN Prime charger curr. $84.45 on Amazon). The company is expected to share more details about the new in-house SoC and other products in the coming days.
