HP has shown off two new affordable Windows-on-Arm laptops at Computex. The OmniBook 5 14 and OmniBook 5 16 trade performance for long battery life by using power-efficient Snapdragon X Plus SoCs. They are Windows Copilot+ certified and come with a dedicated key to invoke the virtual assistant. HP also throws in a 1080p IR camera and a privacy shutter for additional security.
The HP OmniBook 5 16 comes with a 16-inch 2K (1920 x 1200), OLED panel with a 0.2 ms response time, 95% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass for the touch-enabled version. The HP OmniBook 5 14 offers the same specs in a more compact 14-inch form factor. Otherwise, both laptops have identical specifications, down to the 59 Wh Li-ion battery that supports 65 Watts fast charging.
HP lets you configure the OmniBook 5 16 and OmniBook 5 14 with a Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 or a Snapdragon X1-26-100. Both are 8-core chips, but the former can boost up to 3.4 GHz while the latter is limited to 2.9 GHz. Memory and storage configurations include 32/16 GB DDR5-8448 and 1 TB/512 GB/256 GB PCIe Gen4 SSDs. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and two 10 Gbps USB Type-C ports, one USB Type-A port and a 3.5 mm combo audio jack.

The HP OmniBook 5 14 can be purchased in July 2025 starting at $799. Similarly, the HP OmniBook 5 16 is expected to go on sale at about the same time with a starting price of $849. Both models are offered in only one colourway: Glacial Silver.
