Other World Computing (OWC) has unveiled its upcoming Thunderbolt 5 dock at Computex 2025. The dock is scheduled to ship in July for an MSRP of $329.99.
The front of the aluminum dock has a Thunderbolt (USB-C; speed not specified) and USB-A 3.2 10Gb/s port, a power button, a 3.5 mm audio input/output jack for headphones and microphones, and microSD and SD 4.0 UHS-II reader slots.
The rear of the dock has three Thunderbolt 5 (USB-C), two USB-A 3.2 10Gb/s, one USB-A 3.2 5Gb/s, and a 2.5GbE Ethernet port next to the security lock slot and DC IN port. Three external device chains can be connected to the dock, and each chain of peripherals can be disconnected without interrupting the other chains.
The dock can provide up to 140 watts of power to laptops, monitors, and other accessories. Power users will enjoy native support for triple 8K external monitors running at 60 Hz for working from home or gaming convenience. For Apple users, the dock has tested Apple SuperDrive compatibility to burn CDs and DVDs with Macs. The dock ships with OWC Dock Ejector software, but OWC has not revealed its full feature set.
Readers who need a Thunderbolt 5 dock without the card slots and headphone jack can buy this OWC Thunderbolt 5 dock and Thunderbolt-5 compatible cables. Those who don't have a computer with Thunderbolt 5 can make do with this OWC 11-port Thunderbolt 4 dock.
