Xiaomi SU7 gets a new limited edition color to celebrate 15th anniversary
Xiaomi will be celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, and to mark the milestone, it has announced that its first electric vehicle, the Xiaomi SU7, will be getting a new limited edition color. It has also released a special Xiaomi SU7 theme for its smartphones that fans can download for free from the Xiaomi theme store.
When the Xiaomi SU7 was first unveiled in 2023, it was announced in three colors — Aqua Blue, Verdant Green, and Mineral Gray. It then announced six additional colors — Meteor Blue, Radiant Purple, Basalt Gray, Lava Orange, and Pearl White — in 2024. Buyers can also choose from Galaxy Gray, Twilight Red, Mist Purple, and Obsidian Black interior colors.
The new 15th anniversary edition color is dubbed Brilliant Magenta
. Starting today, buyers will be able to choose the new color option on the Xiaomi Auto App when they want to purchase the Xiaomi SU7. ITHome reports that the new color will be available in stores starting in February.
For the Xiaomi SU7 mobile theme, those who download it will get custom wallpapers (lockscreen and homescreen) and icons based on the car. To get the theme, simply search for Xiaomi SU7
on the Xiaomi theme store and download it.
The SU7 has been a huge success for Xiaomi considering this is its first EV. It set a sales target of 100,000 units for 2024, but by mid November, it had reached its target. By the end of December, it reported it had fulfilled about 130,000 orders.
In early December 2024, Xiaomi revealed its second EV will be an SUV that will be sold as the Xiaomi YU7. The new car will be announced in June or July 2025 according to Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun.
