Xiaomi SU7: Xiaomi will soon showcase its powerful electric sports coupe at MWC 2024.
Even before its launch, the Xiaomi SU7 was considered to be an extremely strong competitor to electric cars such as the Audi e-Tron GT, Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S. Xiaomi has revealed important details and specs of the SU7 (Max), with which the tech giant from China hopes to overtake the competition. The SU7 will also be on display at the MWC 2024.

Xiaomi had already presented the most important core technologies for its first electric car, the SU7, at the end of last year as part of the Xiaomi EV Technology Launch. In the run-up to MWC Barcelona 2024 (February 26 - 29), Xiaomi has summarized the core features of the sporty SU7 in a current report and added some details about the supposedly impressive performance of the electric sports coupe, with which the SU7 is intended to face competitors such as the Audi e-Tron GT, Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S. Xiaomi will showcase the SU7 at the MWC 2024 in Barcelona at the end of February.

Xiaomi CEO and co-founder Lei Jun shared a lot of information about the company's upcoming SU7 electric sports sedan last year. Lei Jun also recently commented on the expected price of the Xiaomi SU7 as the company's first electric car: The SU7 will not be a "cheap" electric vehicle, but rather a "dream car". According to the Xiaomi boss, the SU7 will cost the equivalent of around $70,000 in China. As Xiaomi revealed, the strongest SU7 model, the SU7 Max, with a dual electric motor and all-wheel drive, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 2.8 seconds. The SU7 can go from 0 to 200 km/h in under 10.7 seconds and has a top speed of 265 km/h. Brembo racing brakes promise adequate braking performance for the electric rocket.

The in-house developed HyperEngine V8s electric motor is responsible for the brutal performance of the Xiaomi SU7 Max. The high-performance electric motor delivers a whopping power of 425 kW and a torque of a beefy 635 Nm at a maximum speed of 27,200 rpm. Like the Xiaomi SU7 Max, the E-Coupé is said to have 495 kW (673 hp) and a torque of 838 Nm. In future, Xiaomi plans to use carbon rotor bandages (GRP sleeves) to increase the maximum speed of its HyperEngine up to 35,000 rpm and squeeze even more power out of the electric motor. The SU7 model variants with their HyperEngine V6 and V6s offer 220 kW (299 hp) and 275 kW (374 hp), respectively.

For the engine battery, the Xiaomi SU7 utilizes advanced CTB (Cell-to-Body) battery technology from battery giant CATL with an "efficiency value of 77.8%". The maximum capacity of the electric car battery is said to be up to 150 kWh, enabling a theoretical range of around 800 kilometers (474 miles: CLTC). According to Xiaomi, the SU7 uses 800-volt HyperCharge technology for the V6s and V8s motors, with which the SU7 can recharge a range of 220 km (136.7 miles) in 5 minutes. The V6 uses 400-volt technology. The future car manufacturer from China estimates the height of the SU7 floor assembly, consisting of the drive battery and frame, to be 12 centimeters (4.72 inches).

Xiaomi is also particularly proud of its "Xiaomi Hyper Die-Casting T9100 Cluster" creation, which is made from a "high-strength, high-elastic and heat-treated die-casting material" and has been aptly named "Xiaomi Titans Metal". For safety and automated driving, Xiaomi, like GWM (Great Wall Motor) and Zeekr, uses Nvidia's Drive Orin platform with two Orin SoCs and a total of 508 TOPS. The Xiaomi SU7 Max also has LiDAR, 11 cameras and a total of 15 radar sensors on board.

The SU7's features are rounded off by the "Smart Cabin" for the occupants. Here, Xiaomi promises a state-of-the-art interior with "seamless integration of smartphones and smart home applications." The SU7 will initially come in three colors: Aqua Blue, Mineral Gray and Verdant Green.
