The Vivo Y300c is a new smartphone that carries a quite affordable official price tag and is available in different colors. The phone is also equipped with a 5G chipset from MediaTek and a large battery than can be charged with up to 44 watts.
Vivo is launching a new smartphone called the Y300c. It will be available in three different color variants, and customers can choose between two storage versions. Specifically, the phone always comes with 12GB of RAM, but the internal storage has either 256 or 512GB of capacity.
Moreover, the new budget phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, which has an integrated 5G modem but is not considered an extremely fast mobile processor. The AMOLED display measures 6.77 inches and sports a resolution of 2392 x 1080 pixels as well as a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The touchscreen’s sampling rate can be increased to 300Hz when gaming.
Meanwhile, the Y300c has a battery with a typical capacity of 6,500mAh and support for 44-watt fast charging. Thanks to reverse charging, the Vivo smartphone can be used to recharge accessories like headphones. Furthermore, the main camera has a resolution of 50 megapixels and is paired with a 2MP lens in order to create bokeh effects.
That said, the front camera has an 8MP resolution and the Android handset can also be used with two SIM cards simultaneously. The Y300c is currently available in China for the equivalent of $195. It’s unclear if Vivo will ever launch this device globally. Alternatively, similarly affordable phones like the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G can be found on Amazon for currently under $200.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
