Ulefone, a well-known manufacturer of rugged smartphones, is adding yet another model to its range. The Armor 29 Ultra aims to impress with its wide range of features, but it is definitely not a compact device. It measures 33.8 millimeters thick, weighs 688 grams and features reinforced corners. These bulky dimensions are also due to the battery, which is said to have a capacity of an impressive 21,200 mAh. This is said to provide up to 1140 hours of standby time, 114 hours of call time and 27 hours of video playback. 10W reverse charging is supported, which may prove useful for earbuds, watches or even other smartphones.
Powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, the Armor 29 Ultra promises decent performance and 5G connectivity with dual-SIM support. This is accompanied by 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage. The 6.67-inch AMOLED main screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 is complemented by a 1.04-inch secondary screen on the back, also based on AMOLED technology.
Certified according to IP68/IP69K and MIL-STD-810H standards, the Armor 29 Ultra should be able to withstand water, dust, drops and extreme environmental conditions. Other features include a 64-MP night vision camera with an OV64B sensor, while the Sony IMX989 main camera has a resolution of 50 MP. A flashlight on the back consisting of 570 individual LEDs is said to provide up to 1,000 lumens.
The Armour U29 Ultra will go on sale on August 18 for under $1,000. Further details about the smartphone can be found on the product page.
