The Oscal Tank 1 was officially unveiled just a few days ago and is available directly via the manufacturer's online store. The smartphone is available with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash storage for $429, while the 16 GB RAM model costs $468. After the launch period, the price will rise to $520 and $559, respectively.
At a height of 29.5 millimeters and a weight of 640 grams, the Tank 1 is about as thick and heavy as four Apple iPhone 17s stacked on top of each other.
Those willing to carry around such a bulky smartphone will at least get a gigantic battery with a capacity of 20,000 mAh, which is supposed to enable a remarkable runtime of 20 hours when gaming or 45 days on standby. It is charged via USB-C with up to 55 watts. The IP69K-certified and thus waterproof housing houses two LED flashlights on the top that reach a brightness of 170 lumens, a user-programmable button on the left side, and a camera module with an integrated 2-inch secondary display, allowing the main camera to also be used for selfies.
Oscal features a 64 MP f/1.8 main camera with a 1/2-inch sensor, a 20 MP f/2.2 night vision camera with a 1/2.78-inch sensor, and a 50 MP selfie camera. The 6.78-inch main display has a resolution of 1,080p+, a frame rate of 120 Hz, and a brightness of 700 nits. Inside the smartphone is a MediaTek Dimensity 7050.
