Nothing is gearing up for the reveal of its first true flagship phone, the Nothing Phone (3) on July 1. Ahead of the launch, a render surfaced online claiming to be the upcoming phone without the Glyph interface. But it looks like that render might be for a prototype of the Nothing Phone (3a) instead which means the Phone (3) is still as much a mystery as it was a couple days ago.
Known leaker Max Jambor had shared the first look at the Nothing Phone (3) on X in the form of a render showing the complete back panel. It had the Nothing branding, a unique camera system orientation, and the Nothing design theme. What it lacked was the Glyph interface, or any kind of lighting system for that matter. While Nothing had previously claimed to have “killed the Glyph Interface,” a recent post of Reddit seems to suggest that it may still be alive.
The post shared by Eyal-M is a screenshot from the “The SECRETS behind Phone (3a)” video on the company’s official YouTube channel and it shows a few prototypes of the Phone (3a), one of which looks just like the render shared by Jambor. This means we still don’t know what the Nothing Phone (3) looks like but there is still hope for the Glyph interface to make its return.
It could also be possible that Nothing has repurposed one of the prototypes of the Phone (3a) for the Phone (3) and if that is the case, the Glyph interface is truly dead. Regardless, things should become clearer as we move closer to the July 1 launch date as the company is expected to share more teasers for what it is referring to as a true flagship.
