Tronsmart has announced a new, Mini version of its RGB-enabled Bluetooth speaker with an in-built power bank. The new Bang variant has 83.3% of the audio power of its inaugural larger sibling, as well as the same estimated max play-time; then again, it has a smaller on-board battery. It also drops proprietary Tronsmart multi-device connect technology and app support for a reduced asking price.

Tronsmart hyped its inaugural Bang speaker as a truly mobile party machine, as it could be used to keep the mobile device controlling its musical output going while also bringing the RGB lighting with various modes, a beat-driven one included. Now, the OEM has unveiled its latest variant.

This new take on the Bang form-factor (integrated handle and all) is called the Mini; then again, it is rated for 50W of audio power, whereas the original has 60W. Both accessories have a 4-speaker array on the inside, although the Mini has dual 25W woofers in place of its predecessor's dual 30W mid-woofers.

Therefore, Tronsmart backs the Mini to bring "deep bass" to the party, although it still contends the 'main' Bang would be more "balanced" by comparison. The new Bang-series member has the same charging, ingress-protection, NFC features and SoundPulse Audio tech as its predecessor - however, it is also over 1 pound lighter and upgrades to Bluetooth 5.3.

This might have something to do with its smaller battery: it is 4,000mAh in capacity, compared to over 10,000mAh in the first-gen Bang. Tronsmart still rates it to last for up to 15 hours (with the RGB Side Lighting off) between charges, although there is still less power to share with a second device.

Finally, Tronsmart has left its SoundConnect feature that allows up to 100 individual speakers to sync up out of the Bang Mini; it is simply a true-wireless stereo (TWS) product instead. It has been priced at US$89.99/€89.99 on its new Geekbuying page or on Amazon, although the OEM says that the TRONSMART15 code will get the buyer a 15% discount until October 13, 2022.
