The OnePlus 7 Pro and 7T Pro get Always-on Displays via their latest betas
The next stable update for the OnePlus 7 and 7T lines is the one that updates the phones to Android 11. However, their owners do not have to wait for that, as the OEM also runs an official OxygenOS beta program that now serves their 2019 releases.
It has most recently provided the 7, 7 Pro, 7T and 7T Pro with an Open Beta 2. It includes optimizations such as a more effective auto-brightness setting and dynamic wallpapers with smoother transitions. In addition, it might fix a bug faced by some users in which the flash would malfunction when their camera apps switched to Pro Mode.
In addition, OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 2 for the 7 and 7T lines is also the one that unlocks the OEM's Always-on ambient display. However, this still works for the 7 Pro and 7T Pro only, and is accessed through the OnePlus Laboratory, a menu under Settings for experimental features. These new software updates should be rolling out worldwide from now.
