Sony has surprised fans with a State of Play announcement. The event will be streamed tomorrow, June 4, on YouTube and Twitch, but as for what’s in store for expectant gamers, the announcement says “news and updates on must-play games coming to PS5.”

For the longest time, it was believed that there will not be a State of Play announcement or any major events from Sony anytime soon. After some insider hints at a possible event announcement recently, Sony has now confirmed a State of Play event for tomorrow, June 4. The announcement doesn’t really reveal what’s in store for PlayStation fans or what game announcements they can expect.

According to the post on the PlayStation Blog, State of Play will start at 5pm ET/2pm PT/11pm CEST and will be a 40-minute stream on YouTube and Twitch. The announcement simply states, “Watch live for news and updates on must-play games coming to PS5. The show highlights a selection of great games from creators across the globe.”

For quite a while, fans were wondering whether there will be any kind of event or announcement from Sony but signs pointed towards nothing. Up until late May, it was believed that there is no news about a proper State of Play event following the Borderlands 4 dedicated event on April 30. Sony usually has these events every four to six months and the June 4 event comes right on time after the full-fledged February 12 State of Play.

With Sony about to share some interesting news with fans tomorrow, June is shaping up to be a treat for gamers in general. Summer Game Fest is scheduled for June 6 and will bring announcements from PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo, among others. It was recently reported that Ubisoft could announce the Splinter Cell Remake at the event and an Arc Raiders announcement is also expected.
