Sipeed intros Lichee Pocket 4A RISC-V gaming handheld

Sipeed has introduced new devices with RISC-V CPUs. Among them is the Lichee Pocket 4A, which is a handheld gaming PC that sports a 7-inch LCD touchscreen on the front with detachable joy-con-styled controllers.

Under the hood, the Pocket 4A handheld packs the Sipeed LM4A module. It has the T-Head TH1520 CPU that flaunts four XuanTie C910 cores, which are based on the RISC-V architecture. Sipeed has paired the CPU with up to 16 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of eMMC storage.

Besides, the chipset has the Imagination Technologies BXM-4-64 GPU with an NPU that can deliver up to 4 TOPS of AI performance. While this configuration doesn’t make the Lichee Pocket 4A a gaming powerhouse, it will play a big role for developers trying to work with emulators and games under the RISC-V architecture.

Other features of the Sipeed Lichee Pocket 4A include Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi 6, and Gigabit Ethernet for fast and reliable wireless connectivity. As for the ports, the gaming handheld has one USB 2.0 Type-C, two USB 3.0 Type-A, and a microSD card reader. There’s a 5 MP camera, microphone, and stereo speaker setup as well.
