Even with the Redmi Note 11 series still yet to make its way to the West, Xiaomi appears to have its sights set on the Redmi Note 12 lineup already. A new report now provides some tentative information on when the next generation of the company's vaunted mid-range smartphone series will debut.

Xiaomi debuted the Redmi Note 11 series a while ago in China. While the company is yet to bring the phones over to Europe, it appears work has already begun on the next set of phones in the Redmi Note lineup—the Redmi Note 12 series.

As revealed by YouTube Sahil Karoul, word on the grapevine supposedly claims that Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi Note 12 series in Q2 '22 in China. Of course, that's hardly groundbreaking information as Xiaomi has recently taken to releasing Redmi Note generations twice a year. The Redmi Note 10 and Redmi Note 11 series both debuted this year, for example. A Q2 2022 release would be right around six months after the Chinese launch of the Redmi Note 11 series.

The source also included an image. We're not sure if that's supposed to be a render of the Redmi Note 12 series, as it looks rather left-field. Make of that what you will, though it's important to note that this source has been accurate in the past. For now, however, fans of the series will look forward to a global release of the Redmi Note 11 lineup, with the Poco M4 Pro—a reskinned Redmi Note 11—standing as a solid alternative.
