The Radeon RX 9060 XT is shaping up to be a solid performer ahead of its official launch. Someone who got early hands on with the XFX Swift Pro Gaming variant has shared promising looking synthetic and gaming benchmark scores.

AMD is set to announce the Radeon RX 9060 XT on June 5 as a successor to the Radeon RX 7600 XT. A Geekbench listing discovered last week (May 26 – June 1) showed significantly better performance than the previous generation card, but a new leak hints at even more performance potential. A user on Reddit has shared Time Spy GPU benchmark as well as gaming benchmark scores for the RX 9060 XT with a mild OC to the clock speeds.

As per the screenshots shared by a user on Reddit who claims to have got early hands on with the unreleased RX 9060 XT, the GPU scored 17,069 with an overall score of 14,210. It was tested with the AMD Ryzen 5 5600 CPU at 1080p. Notably, it was overclocked a bit with a 200 MHz increase to the clock speed and a 40mV undervolt. At these settings, the user was able to push the GPU to 3.47 GHz with a 199W power draw.

The user also mentioned that they were unable to push the memory clock speeds beyond 2,538 MHz, calling it “un-overclockable.” The benchmark run or the system kept crashing when trying to do so.

Furthermore, a commentor asked for results from Black Myth: Wukong’s benchmark tool and the RX 9060 XT delivered an average of 36 FPS in the Cinematic mode (with OC), which was only 3 FPS slower than the RX 7700 XT. This puts the RX 9060 XT almost at par with the Radeon RX 7700 XT that has an average Time Spy graphics score of 17,113 on the 3dmark database. Even though the Radeon RX 9060 XT, in this case the XFX Swift Pro Gaming variant, was overclocked, it was able to reach the performance of a higher tier, more expensive GPU from the last generation.

This benchmark score comes a few days after the Geekbench listing that showed 25% to 30% better performance than the RX 7600 XT, the true predecessor of the RX 9060 XT. Even though Geekbench is not the best for GPU performance, 3D Mark Time Spy as well as the Black Myth: Wukong benchmark tool are much better indicators.
