The Philips Hue Play Wall Washer smart light has been leaked at Amazon UK. The product listing indicates that it can deliver immersive entertainment experiences or provide relaxing ambient lighting.
Philips Hue’s unreleased Play Wall Washer is a smart lamp which is designed to throw light onto a nearby wall. According to the company, it provides a three times wider beam angle than equivalent products. It is also said to offer ColorCast LED technology for rich colors without glare or flickering. Philips Hue indicates that it offers 1,053 lumens brightness, making it twice as bright as a similar device; this could be the older Philips Hue Play Light bar (curr. $119 at Amazon), which offers around 500 lumens brightness at 4,000K.
The Wall Washer’s lighting effects can be synced with music, video or games, and remote controls will likely be available via the Philips Hue app. Plus, when connected to a Hue Bridge, it should be Matter compatible, integrating with smart home ecosystems like Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa. The smart light has an aluminum casing measuring 9.1 x 7.6 x 15.7 cm (~3.6 x 3.0 x 6.2 inches).
A report by Hueblog.com suggests that the Philips Hue Play Wall Washer will retail for £199.99 in the UK. A 2-pack of the smart light is expected to cost £349.99. Rumors suggest that the product will be officially released in this market in the next few months. Whether or when it could reach other countries remains to be seen.
