The Philips Hue AI-powered assistant is now available for some customers. This feature was announced in January 2025, and a related icon briefly appeared in version 5.38.1 of the Philips Hue app for iOS.
Now, Philips Hue has confirmed on social media that the new AI assistant is available for customers in the Benelux region; these countries are Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. It is worth noting that it is currently only offered to English language customers.
The free to use Philips Hue AI-powered assistant can be accessed from the Home tab and is combined with the older search functionality. The new feature allows users to create lighting effects tailored to their mood or activity. The assistant can find existing lighting scenes or create custom scenes based on voice or text prompts. Example prompts include “Set good makeup lighting”, “What’s the best scene for spring?” and “Which scene should I set for dinner?”.
Users can also provide feedback on the AI suggestions with like and dislike buttons. Plus, the company asks customers to “use responsibly” and warns them to “not add any personal data”. In a recent post on its Instagram account, Philips Hue stated that its AI assistant would reach users in other countries “soon”. Unfortunately, it has not committed to a specific release window.
