OPPO Find X8: New leak purports to confirm hardware and software details for upcoming Android flagship

Barring unforseen obstacles, the OPPO Find X8 could be here with its more premium X8 Pro and Ultra siblings by October 2024. It is thought to have ColorOS 15 (COS 15), an upcoming major Android skin upgrade touted to come with substantially updated UI elements such as wallpapers and lockscreens, out of the box.

However, they are arguably not in evidence in a new photo of a pre-release device identified as the X8 by seasoned leaker Digital Chat Station.

The smartphone has a series-first flat display, already thought of as the new way for vanilla late-2024 Android flagships like the X8 in to distinguish themselves from their higher-end siblings.

It might show backgrounds (and icons) that could still belong to COS 14 - however, it also has the potentially enhanced software-based Dynamic Island clone associated with the first betas of its successor.

Then again, the device's new hands-on leak shows no sign of replicating Apple's new Camera Control. However, it is still possible that the more variants might support the new feature.
