Leak reveals the Oppo Find X8 series will have an extra button for taking pictures and playing games

Oppo is expected to announce the Find X8 series soon, and lots of details have been pouring in about the upcoming smartphones. The latest is a leaked slide that reveals the Find X8 series will have an extra button  similar to what is present on smartphones like the Sony Xperia 1 VI (curr. available on Amazon for $1,040). However, unlike the Xperia 1 VI, the button on the Find X8 series is a capacitive type and not a physical button.

The image shows the Quick Button is located close to the bottom of the right side of the frame. It has a similar size as the power button which is also on the same side. Using Google Translate to translate the text on the image reveals the button will serve multiple functions. In camera mode, users can tap it to take a photo. It also says ''long press to shoot'' and ''sliding zoom''. The latter probably means that users can slide a finger over it to zoom in or zoom out.

The slide function of the Quick Button will also work when in the gallery app. Sliding a finger on it should scroll through the photos or zoom in and out when viewing a particular photo. The Quick Button will also work in games where users can either tap or long press to shoot.

The addition of an extra button that can serve as a camera shutter makes sense considering the Find X series is known for its camera prowess. While a physical button would have been nice, a capacitive button also works, especially with the Find X8 series ditching the curved frame of the Find X7 for a flat one.
