DJI Neo unboxing footage shows rumoured hardware and mentions much lower than expected launch pricing
It seems that DJI is already selling its next drone in certain markets, despite not having unveiled it yet in any capacity. To recap, there has been evidence that Best Buy had started stocking the DJI Neo in certain brick-and-mortar stores. However, YouTube channel enontheroad has managed to purchase a retail unit from Malaysia.
Somewhat predictably, the YouTube channel decided to publish the first unboxing video; it remains to be seen whether the video and accompanying Instagram posts will remain active, though. Also, given that the DJI Neo is not officially available, it should come as no surprise to learn that the drone is not flyable yet. Still, Enontheroad has offered various comparisons between the DJI Neo and the HOVERAir X1 Pro, the latter of which was released earlier this week.
Moreover, they claim to have been informed by DJI representatives that the Neo will be released on September 5. Although this date is still unofficial for now, it has been mentioned before by other sources. For reference, a typically well-informed leaker has suggested that DJI may start teasing the Neo from August 29. Incidentally, enontheroad asserts that DJI will sell the Neo for €199 in the Eurozone, which will rise to nearly €350 for the Fly More Combo that bundles numerous accessories.
