GoPro Hero and GoPro Hero 13 Black specs confirmed in leaked unboxing footage before launch day
It is no secret that GoPro is preparing to release new action cameras. In fact, the company has confirmed that it will unveil new devices tomorrow. Please see our previous article for full launch details, as well as a look at the Hero 13 Black in a hands-on leak.
Now, various sources have shared close-ups of retail packaging for not just the Hero 13 Black but also the 'Hero'. For reference, the new leaks arrive only a few days after @Quadro_News revealed numerous Hero 13 Black promotional images, full details of which we have covered separately. Incidentally, there is no sign of a MAX 360 (curr. $514.95 on Amazon) successor, despite evidence suggesting that a MAX 2.0 would launch alongside the Hero and Hero 13 Black.
At any rate, the photos below show that the Hero 13 Black will surpass the Hero in many areas. For example, while the former will be capable of capturing images at 27 MP, GoPro will restrict the latter to 12 MP shots. Similarly, although the Hero 13 Black peaks at 5.3K/60 FPS or 4K/120 FPS, the Hero must make do with capturing 4K/30 FPS or 2.7K/60 FPS footage. Please see the images below for more details.
