Just over a month has passed since Android Headlines shared an extensive spec sheet relating to the Pixel 9a. Few details about Google's next mid-range smartphone have emerged since. Instead, information about a possible side-grade more than a successor has surfaced via a different source.
Now, Android Headlines has returned to providing fresh insights into the Pixel 9a by detailing its US launch pricing. According to the website, the Pixel 9a will start at $499, which remains the MSRP of the Pixel 8a. As with last year's model, this price will feature 128 GB of storage rather than the 64 GB starting memory configurations of older Pixel A series smartphones.
The same cannot be said for the Pixel 9a's pricier 256 GB storage variant, though. Reportedly, Google plans to sell this version for $599 in a $40 uplift over the equivalent Pixel 8a (curr. $499 on Amazon). Likewise, Android Headlines states that the Pixel 9a will arrive in Canada for an unchanged CA$679 if opting for 128 GB of storage but a CA$50 increase to CA$809 for the device's 256 GB option.
Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 9a this spring, possibly in March before Google I/O 2025. While official images have yet to surface for this year's Pixel A series smartphone, Roland Quandt has published an image from a third-party case manufacturer showing what could be the handset's display design. If accurate, it would suggest that the Pixel 9a has slimmer bezels than last year's model, although we would not rule out this being a Pixel 9 image at this stage either.
